Babycake donut maker
Directions
Donuts
Whisk together eggs, buttermilk, melted butter, and vanilla cake mix in a large bowl, stirring until smooth. Carefully fold in chopped strawberries.
Preheat donut maker. Fill molds to the top with donut batter and close lid. Bake for 3 1/2-4 minutes, or until donuts are golden brown.
Use a small spatula or fork to remove finished donuts from the donut maker, and set on a plate or rack to cool.
Glaze
Whisk together powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk. Add more milk as needed until a thick glaze has formed.
Pour the glaze onto a shallow plate. Carefully, drip a few drops of food coloring onto to the glaze. With your knife, swirl the food coloring and glaze together, creating a marbled pattern.
Dip a cooled donut into glaze and place on a sheet pan or rack until set. Repeat with remaining donuts, adding more food coloring as needed. Top with a halved fresh strawberry!
Recipe Note
Pro tip:
- One side of each donut will be golden brown, and the other side will be cake- white. We made the golden brown side the “top” side of our muffin, for easier dipping.
