Content Creator (part-time)

Position Description

We are looking for a part-time food content creator to create engaging content for our TikTok and Instagram baking community. If you love following trends and understand the type of content that drives engagement, you may be just the person we're looking for. The ideal candidate will be a creative thinker with passion for food styling and photography.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Own the food styling, recipes, photography, videography and editing of Miss Jones social media content (primarily video) to be posted on TikTok and Instagram

  • Creating daily engaging videos that incorporate our products (5 posts/week)

  • Work closely with our marketing team and founder (at least in-person 1x a week) to create content together

  • Ensure content messaging and brand voice are consistent with brand objectives / visual 

  • Understanding of the individual voice, audience and aesthetic of Miss Jones social media platforms

Required Competencies & Skills:

  • Experience creating content for social media, preferably for a CPG and/or food and beverage brand

  • Ability to shoot both in-studio and kitchen lifestyle photography and videography

  • Excellent understanding of social media platforms, including their respective strengths, nuances, success metrics, and relevant demographics

  • Knowledge of each social media channel’s algorithms and ability to plan and manage content respectively

  • Up to speed with the latest social media tools and trends

  • Equal expertise in baking, food styling, videography and editing

  • Excellent photography skills

  • Experience using photo and video editing softwares to create social assets, including:

    • Ability to create images, GIFs, and videos as-needed

    • Ability to create videos, time lapse and stop-motion videos

    • Ability to write on-asset and caption copy as-needed

  • Strong collaborator who takes direction well and is a team-player

  • Ability to pivot quickly and adapt easily to strategy or deadline changes

  • Proven experience capturing content optimized for social, not just posting or maintaining an account

  • Extremely organized and thrives on multitasking, fast-paced environments

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in social media & content creation for a food, beverage or lifestyle brand

  • Passion for social media, photography and content creation

  • Strong working knowledge of the competitive landscape, especially small to mid-scale food CPG brands

  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms and strategies

  • Possess an eye for aesthetic curation and cohesive visual and written storytelling

  • Based on San Francisco area; ability to travel to the office and or meet with founder 1x a week
